Left responsible for her young niece and nephew, Anna finds herself dumped and alone in Melbourne, a city she doesn't even like. She tries to navigate the shock of looking after two children battling with their grief while managing her own. Taylor Finn aspires to be a stunt driver, but driving a limo is what pays the bills. Maybe it's finally time to pursue her dream.
Chase Hillier has plans, and nothing will cause her to deviate from them. So far, they're pretty simple: Get through her first year of college with good grades, read a lot of books, and hopefully find a cute boyfriend who could turn into her husband someday. She's got it all mapped out.
No one is going to stand in her way. Not even her roommate, Cordelia Scott. Cordelia Scott has her own plans: Get through her freshman year without too many panic attacks, figure out what the hell she wants to major in, and meet a guy who finally makes her heart flutter. Fate has other plans for the two when they end up as roommates and neither of them can stop thinking about the other. They're both absolutely sure that they like boys and not girls. But their sparks can't be extinguished, and they realize there is a lot more to their connection with each other than either of them thought.
How will they navigate a path that neither of them planned on taking. Chord will immerse you in a wonderful world of likable, kind, loving people at the brink of adulthood, filled with optimism for the future, whatever that may be, and learning about themselves and accepting that they are very different from who they thought they were. This is a very sweet, enjoyable story.
Nightmare (The Noctalis Chronicles, #2) by Chelsea M. Cameron
First year college students MCs Chase and Cordelia are computer-assigned as roommates. Chase is often anxious around others, and Cordelia too-frequently suffers panic attacks, but they become fast friends and comfort each other. Wow…do they comfort each other oops…jumping ahead too much! It was delightful spending more time with Stella and Kyle throughout the book. Their friendships with Chase and Cordelia are integrated very nicely. Chase and Cordelia make a mutual pact to find boyfriends by the end of the year, but each are frequently confused and flustered by their feelings for each other.
Chase, Cordelia and their friends felt real, and I felt happy spending time with them.
The story uses alternating POVs, and I really enjoyed being inside each of their heads, hearing what each of them thought, as they thought of themselves and of each other. Tenderness and communication abounds, which I really enjoyed in this New Adult storyline. By the way ok, I guess this is a bit of a spoiler…. Now I want to go bowling, even with the stinky shoes…. Get this terrific audiobook…. My rating and my review was not in anyway affected by my having been provided a review copy.
As with Style, this is a simple story of two people falling in love. Not everything is easy but there are no external problems. And it feels good. Also, the whole labels thing was on point. It was so much love and support in this book. Love how this book add in Questioning as there are people still figuring out who they are.
I just want to thank you for writing this book it was great listening to it. Cannot wait to get the book itself. Great narrator. Great story. Great writing. What more can you ask for? Great job Chelsea and Sophie!
Neither (The Noctalis Chronicles #3) by Chelsea M. Cameron
I have not read Style, so I read this without any real expectations. It's purely fluff, so as long as that's what you're expecting, it's great! As an asexual, I smiled when the author introduced one of the side characters as ace as well. Every chapter starts with chase's perspective, then switches over to cordelia's perspective.
